WHAT WE OFFER?
We manufacture gears from any material, suitable for gear manufacturing including all grades of steel, iron, plastic, micarta, rawhide, brass, bronze and stainless. Depending on the size and quantities of the order, we can produce from bar stock, forgings, plate, fabrications, molded parts, precision drawn parts and more.
COUPLING GEARS & FLEXO TYPE COUPLING
A gear type coupling will reliably transmit more torque per pound and per inch of diameter than any other flexible coupling type. For this elementary reason, the gear-type coupling is specified worldwide for a great variety of medium to heavy-duty industrial drives, providing long and economical operating life.
ADVANTAGES OF MANCHESTER ENGINEERING WORKS COUPLINGS
TYPES OF GEAR WE MANUFACTURE

Spur Gears: The teeth on spur gears are 90 degree to the side, or face of the gear. Spur gears run parallel to one another. Spur gears can be arranged in long trains to meet required ratio reduction, as well as maintained required size constrictions.

Helical Gears: Any gear with the teeth at any angle other than 90 degrees to the face of the gear. Helical gears may also be run at 90 degrees to one another by using gears with the same helix angle.

Double Helical Gears: The double helical gear removes the driving force in spindle director generated in helical fear. It’s applied in large-sized & capacity gears such as turbin for ship, and large capacity reducer.

Bevel Gears: Straight bevel gears can be manufactured from 24DP to 3DP up to 20 inches in diameter and produced to meet AGMA class 8 levels.

Herringbone Gears: When helical gears transmit motion between two parallel shafts end thrust may be avoided by using herringbone gears. Herringbone gears are basically two helical gears placed side by side, with opposite hands of teeth.

Spur or Helical Rack & Pinion Gears: Rack gear is a toothed bar into which a pinion meshes. Racks are gears of infinite pitch radius. They are used to translate rotary motion to linear motion or vice versa. They will mesh with pinions of the same pitch. Racks are made of various materials. The commonly used materials for racks are stainless steel, brass and plastic.

Worm Gears: A worm gear is a specific gear composition in which a screw (worm) meshes with a gear/wheel similar to a spur gear. The set-up allows the user to determine rotational speed and also allows for higher torque to be transmitted.

Plastic Gears: We manufacture plastic gears from all types of materials. We offer standard nylon, Delrin’s and gloss filled products and exotic materials. These parts can be made in low or high volume, in sizes ranging from ½ inch to 36 inch in diameter.

Internal & External Splines: Internal and external splines are just another of our many types of products produced. Involute and straight sided splines can be produced by hobbing, shaping, broaching and rolling. Both internal and external splines can be cut using our CNC gear cutting machines.

Sprockets & Pulleys: This gear is produced for the chain and belt drive systems manufacture. We review your Sprocket or pulley program, and our experienced professionals will produce the highest quality items with state-of-the-art processing.
